Brown Trout with Fly, on paper (SOLD)

The inspiration for the trout series originated years ago when I owned a small farm with a spring-fed pond that was stocked with a variety of trout which my husband enjoyed feeding, catching, and releasing. Upon removing them from the water I was taken by the vibrancy and luminescence of the colors. Many years later it came to me when visiting an aquarium stocked with trout and observing them swim at eye level that they would make excellent subjects for my watercolor renderings.  These paintings were produced both on watercolor paper and deerskin parchment.  There are three species represented, brook, brown, and rainbow.
