The ABDs of Dogs began as an effort to find meaningful work during the pandemic cloister imposed in 2020. When I decided to do the alphabet, “A” is for Airedale, of course, since that has been my breed of choice for the past three decades. Having drawn the Airedale many times because I am enamored with my own dogs and being asked to draw several other dog owners’ breeds (Jack the Labrador, Mickey the Boston, Elizabeth the King Cavalier) I just could not stop myself from continuing! “B” is for Beagle, “C” is for, well, my apologies to the Cocker, Collie, and Corgi owners, but “C” is always for CAT! “U” presented something of a challenge, so that became “Unidentified Breed” as opposed to “M” for Mutt (I already had an “M”). Thus, it became “the ABDs of Dogs!”
